Dr. Bouzid Boudiaf

 Bouzid BOUDIAF graduated in architecture from the Ecole Polytechnique d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme d’Alger (E.P.A.U.), in 1984 with first class honors. After one year in

professional practice in the headquarter of housing in Algiers, he accepted a post graduate research grant from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that enabled him to study at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. From 1993 to 1998, he was the course director at the E.P.A.U. In 1996, he was designated by the ministry to coordinate the revision of the pedagogical programs in Technology and Architecture. Since then, he has been a consultant to the ministry and associate Professor at the Institute of Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sciences and Technology (U.S.T.H.B.), BabEzzouar.

From 1996 to 2004, he has been involved in many researches at the laboratory of town planning at the U.S.T.H.B. He was in charge of the Urban Design’s group. He published more than 30 articles and five collective books dealing particularly with the structure of knowledge in Architecture, housing and urban design. He is now working on the interactions between Ecology, Culture and the structure of knowledge and their impacts on the built environment. He has been member of scientific committee of several International Conferences, and he was a member of the scientific and pedagogical committees at the Ecole Polytechnique d Architecture et d Urbanisme from 1992 to 1998. He joined AUSTN in February 2005 where in parallel to his tasks as a lecturer and a researcher, he is a member of many international associations dealing with the study of people and their physical surroundings
