Professor Hadjied Ali

Professor Ali HADJIEDJ is a professor of Town and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Geography and Town Planning at the University of Science and Technology Haouari Boumediene, Bab Ezzouar, Algeria. He holds a Ph.D in Town planning from Paris VII University (1991) and is a President of the Algerian association of Town Planners. He is the director of multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams of a laboratory of research.  He is also an international expert and consultant (Arte-Charpentier in France, Nouveaux Territoires Burgeab in Portugal and different Algerian institutions: Ministry of Town planning and Environment, Ministry of Tourism, National Agency of town Planning, Municipalities of Algiers and Tamanrasset). He is a visitor professor at the National School of Architecture and Urbanism (E.P.A.U.).

He is a member of the National Committee of the Research in the Universities (Algeria), and the President of the National Committee of the disciplines of Town Planning and Geography. Nowadays, he is chairing 11 projects of research developed by different teams of the laboratory.  He supervised more than 150 Master Thesis in Town planning and Urban Design, 20 Ph.D Thesis in Town Planning.

He is the author of two books and many articles. He organized four conferences, one at the national level and three at the international level.

He is co-chairing three projects of research of cooperation, two with the Institute of Urbanism in Paris and one with the University of Paris XII.
