Mike Jenks is Professor Emeritus, Department of Architecture at Oxford Brookes University, the Founder Director of the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development (OISD) and Principal Investigator and Founder of City Form: the Sustainable Urban form Consortium (www.city-form.org).  His research expertise relates to the compact city and sustainable urban form, and the relationships between environmental, social and economic sustainability in an urban context. His books include: The Compact City: A sustainable urban Form? (1996); Achieving Sustainable Urban Form (2000); Compact Cities: sustainable urban forms for developing countries (2000); Future Forms and Design for Sustainable Cities (2005); World Cities and Urban Form (2008), and; The Dimensions of the Sustainable City (2010)
