Mona Helmy received her Doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) in Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Stuttgart, Germ any,  in 2008.  She holds a Master's degree

 in Urban Design and undergraduate degree in Architecture, Ain Shams University ASU, Cairo, Egypt. Since 2006, she has been working as an Assistant Professor in

the School of Design and Architecture at Dar Al-Hekma College, Jeddah, KSA. Her research focus is “I mage of  t he Arab Cities”, “ Cit y Festivalization and Event ification” , and “ Creative Public Spaces”, where she undertook research,  published paper s and lectured widely on the subject. Currently she is under taking  a

“ Habilitation” ( Post -Doctoral) research at the Stadtebau-Institut SI,  University of St uttgar t on t he “ Creative Public Space”.
