Dr.Samia Rab American University of Sharjah,UAE Samia Rab is an architect and educator pursuing conservation as an integral part of architectural and urban design. She is currently teaching at the School of Architecture and Design in the American University of Sharjah. She received her PhD in architecture from the Georgia Tech (1997, Atlanta-USA), SMArchS from the MIT (1990, Cambridge-USA), and BArch from the NCA (1987, Lahore-Pakistan). Her research investigations focus on architectural and urban development in diverse contexts where indigenous/local cultures have been transformed through forces of “globalization” and promotion of “universal values” (Australia, China, the Indian-Subcontinent and, most recently, the UAE). |
