Yasser Elsheshtawy holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research has focused on socio-cultural sustainability, environment-behavior studies, architectural theory and changing urban patterns in Middle

Eastern cities particularly the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He has authored and edited a series of books which include “ Dubai:  Behind an Ur ban Spectacle” ( 2010) , “T he evolving  Arab cit y”  ( 2008),  and “ Planning  Middle Easter n Cities” ( 2004, 2009).  He was involved as a consultant with organizations such as t he United Nat ion‟s Economic and Social Commission of Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) where he collaborated in the Sheikh Zayed Memorial Competition.
