The Development of Tripoli's Water Front: A Critical Review Because of its location on the southern part of the Mediterranean, Tripoli has witnessed a great exchange of cultures which gave her an interesting architectural character. The City of Tripoli is a well developed and vibrant community in the Seacoast area of Libya. It is one of the oldest permanent settlement in north Africa. It has been a bustling waterfront trading port from various parts of the world. Over the past eight decades, the city has struggled to establish to a certain extent, a successful link with the sea. The paper will review in a critical manner, plans for major development at the Tripoli waterfront. It seeks to present key notes for consideration for the future, toward establishing a definite and productive vision for Tripoli waterfront.
