The sea front of the town of Algiers “inventory of fixtures and principles of rehabilitation

The sea front reflects the stratification and the multiple relations between the sea and the city. These stratifications are behind the development of multiform territorial attributions which are sometimes incoherent. Man, with his ambitions of economic and socio-cultural interests, and who is the actor of these incoherencies. Obviously, the sea front of each city develops, territorialement and functionally, with the context local, political, economic, technical and managerial. For this purpose, the case of Algiers is made conspicuous by a certain number of stakes generated by a process of urbanization and regional planning generating of the changes unceasingly, which are not without consequences on the reports/ratios sea city.

Of a relation of interest common to a relation evolving to conflicts of urbanization, which brought  Algiers  with turned the back on the sea, and generated perverse effects for the development and operation of the sea front. This last is at the same time a place economically strategic and socially convivial, where the inhabitants note a paradox which is that to see the sea and not to reach it, whose man in is once again, responsible.

A willingness to rehabilitate the values of the relations city - sea in Algiers on one make interest economic and socio-cultural is already on-site since 2007. It would be to this end, convenient to expose under an optics of scientific research, the stakes to be dealt with of which, the opening of the city on the sea, the creation of a space of economic and socio-cultural opportunity, user-friendliness and multiple association between the two parts, ground and sea.
