Reconnecting places: giving the waterfront back to citizens

Patricia Brown will explore examples of  various waterfront developments have transformed urban centres, including Bilbao, New York, London’s South Bank. The presentation will examine the potential of well executed schemes to reconnect fragmented cities, as well as the drivers for change (regeneration of former docklands, etc) and the components of success, including high quality design, pedestrian routeways and animation of the public space
